http://www.cometosilver.com/ - Silver's Sock class - great for beginning sock knitters! I just finished my first pair and it was super-simple! I have now made four pairs of socks following this pattern. It's easy to memorize and comes out excellent each time.

Look for knitting books and kits on Amazon - I found a great kit for toe-up socks there!
